Pat’s Coffee Shop
A Case Study
Pat’s Coffee Shop is a popular, local cafe that has been around for more than 30 years. Pat’s had to shift its business model last year to continue doing business during COVID but noticed real interest and support for their online shop. They’re also officially reopening and want to spread the word. You should create the copy / written content while creating / sourcing images for the website. To help with Pa't’s Coffee Shop marketing and advertising, you should design three Instagram posts.

Brand Guide
Logo, Color Palette, and Typography were given by the client.
Pat’s Coffee’s customers want fresh delicious coffee with a community to share it with. Coffee and community are the driving concepts behind the brand.
Concept
The main desire that Pat’s Coffee wanted to express was welcoming customers back into the cafe after the pandemic. The main theme being “Welcome Back.”
I really wanted to keep the ethos of the Pat’s Coffee brand at the forefront. The two concepts that Pat’s Coffee really wanted to drive home is that the coffee is grounded in freshness and deliciousness and community. I really liked the color palette given, it lends itself well to warm, earthy, and comforting tones which fit nicely with the brand's core values.
Homepage Drafts
Homepage: Menu, About/Mission, Retail, Events
Focus: The Homepage acting as the highlight reel of the most relevant information. The new coffee seasonal blend being one of the focuses along with community events. Community building, old and new customers. Pat’s story, to help reconnect with loyal regulars and to inform new users in the history of the shop. The events centered around the core ideas of coffee and community; coffee workshops and concerts. Both events encouraging users to come to the coffee shop.
Photo Concept
I used photos to help tell the story of the coffee shop. I wanted to set the tone for the users visiting the website. I decided to work with the color palette of the brand. I wanted to highlight the warm and welcoming tones, I wanted to evoke a sense of home, a place that is friendly and approachable.
For the stock photos I wanted them to have the same cohesive look, as if they were taken from the same photoshoot. I wanted to create a unifying tone to help conceptualize the feel of authenticity for the brand.
